About Us

Desert Fiber Arts Guild – Each One, Teach One

DFA was organized as a club for fiber arts enthusiasts in 1974. DFA is a designated non-profit (501c3) educational and service organization.

Forty-five years ago, the DFA fledgling Library and Equipment Rentals were housed in members’ homes. Meetings were held in public venues and study groups met in private homes around the Tri-Cities, Washington. As membership increased, DFA needed a place where members could meet, work, store equipment, and shelve books, now some 970 volumes of reference material, magazines and digital media. The founders’ dream became reality in September 2014 when the DFA celebrated the grand opening of its Guild Studio in Kennewick.

DFA Guild Studio invites you to exercise your creative expression. Looms are warped and ready for weaving. Spinning wheels and carders are available for rent to members. Study Groups teach weaving, spinning, knitting, basketry, felting and more.

Come learn all you can from the area’s leading fiber experts. Bring your fiber art pieces to show and to sell.

Our Purpose

  • To promote participation in and appreciation for fine craftsmanship related to the fiber arts.
  • To encourage the development and interest of the craft field within the arts, in education, therapy, marketing, and the community as a whole.
