BY THE BOOK KNITTERS

Our next meeting will be October 16th 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Have you ever been at a yard sale where you felt a blissful cashmere sweater and thought I wish I had yarn like that? Kitty Burns Bryan will be on hand to show us how to deconstruct sweater to get that wonderful yarn. She will show us what type of construction to look for and how to start getting that wonderful yarn for your stash. This is a link to the article that started Kitty thinking about recycling cashmere yarn. It is worth reading.    http://www.chicagotribune.com/chi-china-cashmere-htmlstory-htmlstory.html

At the September meeting, storyteller Kelly Reed stopped by to tell us two stories. The first was a string story where Kelly made string figures to illustrate the Duck and Cat and the fun they had. The second story was Agatha’s Feather Bed: Not Just Another Wild Goose Story by Carmen Agra Deedy. It was a spinning, knitting, weaving story and is great for listening.
