After moving to the Tri-Cities into a house that I hoped to make permanent, I wanted to give the house a name (we moved twenty times in fifty years). After all the White House was taken and our house is yellow anyway. Feeling a lot like Winnie the Pooh, a bear of little brain, coming up with something appropriate was more difficult than I had expected: Permanent Place, Rice’s Space, Park Street Hideaway, Hobby Holding Spot and so on. Then I remembered our five-year old granddaughter naming our living room The talking Room because there was no TV. So I’ve begun naming the rooms: The Quilt Room (guest bedroom), The Nursery (for the grandbabies), The Coffee Spot (for our afternoon coffee ritual) and now The Weaver’s Den. Downsizing my loom collection, yarns and books, opening up the fireplace, adding some comfortable furniture and we have a relaxing room called The Weavers Den. Less is more so they say and having more had just become more! For a consultation or more information about home decorating or just getting rid of “stuff’ my number is in the directory. Judy Rice
