The Barberini Tapestries

No matter what fiber art you enjoy, these enormous tapestries are sure to impress and amaze!  They were woven in the 1600’s in Italy. Just the borders themselves would have taken massive amounts of time and expertise. This is the first time they have been loaned out anywhere from the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.

Be sure to take advantage of this special exhibit at the University of Oregon in Eugene. These are in the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. last day of the exhibit is January 21, 2018. A small admission of $5 or $3 for 62+.  HOURS: Wednesday through Sunday 11am to 5pm.

UPDATE from Leigh Williams

I’m living in Eugene now, so if you intend a trip to see the Barbieri Tapestries, do get in touch. It’d be fun to re-connect with you.
