Attached are photos of the Duelling Rabbits project woven on our own drawloom. After weaving the samples with Cheryl Reed’s help, I can see endless possibilities. I am attaching photos and a wif file. I have used Fiberworks Silver.

After understanding the treadling, this is very very fun to weave. When weaving the motifs within the basketweave grid, you don’t change the pull handles for the basket weave grid. So you are either setting the pattern shafts for the grid or for the motifs essentially with this design but not both at the same time. This will make more sense as you sit down to weave. The point is that this simplifies the weaving.

At our next meeting in June, perhaps we can talk about all the possibilities. The best weft size so far seems to be 5/2 or 8/2 cotton for good coverage of our 22/2 cottolin.

Hope you become as excited as I am about the threading of this drawloom project. And I hope to see you the 2nd Tuesday of June, June 13th, 10AM-12PM.

Enjoy this lovely springtime, Susan
