At our last meeting we were admiring Karen Dodson”s new
beautiful scarf. She wove it from merino wool, which she had
hand spun. Her scarf is 2 yards long, not counting the fringe.
She had purchased hand-dyed merino wool from Malabrigo Yarn
Company. The company had dyed the merino roving in sections
of green, yellow, blue, purple, and brown.
Karen spun the yarn and plied it back on itself, which combined
the colors. Then she wove the scarf on her Rigid Heddle loom.
As she wove the scarf, the colors created their own pattern. She
now has a colorful elegant scarf.
