Dye in the Park:
This year we will be dyeing Silk Hankies
Saturday June 21st from 8:30am to 1:30pm at 25 E 3rd Ave Kennewick, 99336
Bring rubber gloves, hat, sunscreen, water and wear old clothes and shoes.
Please use the driveway to unload then move your car to the church parking lot.
I have 10 ounces of silk hankies for us to dye. Please feel free to bring any of your own hankies and some poorly dyed hankies I will overdye.
The week before probably at Hooks and Sticks, we will divide the hankies into small amounts and put them into ziplock bags with plain water to soak.
It takes silk a long time to get really wet. Then on that Saturday we will add the dye and citric acid.
● At the August By the Book Knitters meeting we will learn how to knit the hankies.
● At the August Pop Up Spinning (TBD) we will learn how to spin the hankies.
There will be dyes for other projects also
